Ram is seeking a Tax Manager to join their accounting team in their Palm Beach Gardens, FL headquarters.
The Tax Manager will be responsible for managing tax reporting and tax planning; manage outside consultants (i.
e.
, tax) with a high degree of professionalism and integrity; ensures compliance of tax affairs with federal, state, local and/or foreign tax laws.
Recommends tax policy for the organization and assesses overall impact.
Familiar with Fund and REIT accounting practices.
Responsible for other accounting duties across other cross functional areas, including Fund Accounting and Corporate Accounting.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing multiple tax engagements with several outside CPA firms, tax planning, and reviewing the completion of tax returns for accuracy.
This includes tangible personal property returns in addition to state and federal tax returns.
Must be familiar with regulations at the federal, state, local and/or foreign level.
Quarterly review of financial data to minimize the tax obligations.
Performs complex tax research.
Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of tax policy (both state and federal) and other regulatory implications both directly and with guidance from outside professionals.
Communicate potential issues (and opportunities) to internal management team succinctly and clearly (e.
g.
laments term).
Develops and maintains an expertise in the taxation area.
Participate in fund and other entity structuring with external tax and legal advisors.
This may be at the investor, fund (e.
g.
partnership), REIT, or property level.
Act as primary point of communication with partners/investors relative to tax issues.
Oversight of the firms fixed asset capitalization and depreciation expense policies.
Note that the methodologies may vary based on ownership structure of the various vehicles (e.
g.
REITs, partnerships, etc.
).
Maintain a portfolio of property and/or Fund accounting records to include, but not limited to, the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and FASB or other basis of accounting and analysis of financial records.
Including entering of journal entries, and maintenance of workpapers, as needed.
Preparation of consolidating Fund financial statements.
Work to streamline financial operations and consistently apply appropriate tax and accounting practices.
Assist the team as needed with the annual audit, quarterly reporting and financials, capital call and distribution schedules, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
These requirements represent the education, knowledge, skill, certifications/licensure and/or ability required to perform the Tax Manager job satisfactorily.

Requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, public accounting and/or tax experience.
Bachelor's degree in related field; CPA preferred, not required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of software.
Advanced Excel and data entry skills required.
Experience with Yardi strongly preferred.
Experience with REITs, Partnerships, and Real Estate strongly preferred.
